St. Bede concerts

Free Concerts at St. Bede Parish in Williamsburg will include Winners of the Williamsburg Music Club “Grants in Aid Competition” on Sunday, May 31, at 1 p.m. Horn player J. Persecuted Christians

St. Jerome Catholic Church, at 116 Denbigh Blvd. Newport News, will have a day of prayer for persecuted Christians on Thursday, June 4. St. Thomas More Society to have Mass, breakfast June 19

Catholic lawyers are invited to a Mass honoring St. Thomas More on Friday, June 19, at 7:30 a.m. at the Diocesan Pastoral Center in Richmond. Breakfast will follow.

Msgr. R. Francis Muench, Judicial Vicar of the Diocese, will preside and preach at the Mass organized by the St. Thomas More Society.

Boychoir to perform at Cathedral of the Sacred Heart

The Minnesota Boychoir, founded in 1962, will give a concert on Wednesday, June 24, at 7 p.m. at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart as part of an East Coast tour to North Carolina, Maryland and Virginia. The Minnesota Boychoir, based in St. Paul, Minn., trains young men to be outstanding musicians and strives to help them develop a sense of poise and self-confidence through education and performance. The concert at the Cathedral will be the only performance at a Catholic church during the current tour. 


Tidewater Catholic Alumni Club

The Tidewater Catholic Alumni Club will host a nature hike and picnic at noon on Sunday, June 7, at Newport News Park. We will meet at Picnic Shelter 15 for a barbecue. Then, weather permitting, we will hike one of the park’s nature trails. The club is a member of the national organization Catholic Alumni Club International. Spring carnival

St. Pius X Church in Norfolk will hold its Spring Carnival June 11–June 14 on the church parking lot at East Little Creek Road and Halprin Drive. The carnival will feature a wide variety of exciting rides and attractions, complemented with an array of games, prizes, and concessions. Advance tickets now on sale.
