Assistant Principal

Director of Social Justice

Church of the Ascension is seeking a part-time (20 hr a week) Director of Social Justice (DSJ) to work with a team of Social Justice Ministers and volunteers. The DSJ is responsible for directing a comprehensive social justice ministry program containing service, education and advocacy. Serves as a resource person for the Justice and Peace Committee and coordinates Justice and Peace initiatives for the Parish. Helps coordinate the education in Catholic Social Doctrine, and service opportunities, serves as a liaison between the parish and various social outreach and advocacy organizations. The DSJ also works directly with clients in need and is responsible for the Social Justice budget. This position is part time with benefits.

Applicant must be a practicing Catholic in good standing. The candidate must be a team player with excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. A working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel are required.

Coordinator of Religious Education

Church of the Ascension is seeking a part-time Coordinator of Religious Education (CRE). The CRE is responsible for the planning, supervision and coordination of religious education programs for K-8th grade level. The CRE will maintain the parish catechetical programs for these children in accordance with the Diocesan catechetical norms and guidelines. The CRE is responsible for recruitment and support of volunteer catechists, Vacation Bible School, and providing support to the DRE for the Sacrament Preparation program.
