Jazz and food festival

St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Richmond, will hold its 7th Annual Jazz and Food Festival on Saturday, August 1, in the church park, 2712 2nd Avenue, in Highland Park, from noon until 7:30 p.m. Entertainment includes smooth jazz by Carlton Ayles, CurvAppeal, Glenroy Bailey, Double Digit and music mixer DJ Mike. Antoinette Essa, from CBS6, will be hosting the festival this year. Come join us for a day of food, music, community vendors and community fellowship. Please bring a chair or blanket. Donation $5.00.

Msgr. Irwin to speak

”Pope Francis on Ecology and Environment: Teaching and Practice” will be the theme of a presentation by Msgr. Kevin W. Irwin, former Dean of the School of Theology and Religious Studies at The Catholic University of America, on Pope Francis’ encyclical, “Laudato Si” on Saturday, Aug. 1, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, 9505 Gayton Rd., Richmond. Alumni reunion

Our Lady of Victory Alumni Association, Portsmouth, will host a Grand Reunion of all former members, students, family, and friends of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church and School during the weekend of October 2-4. We are currently seeking names and contact information for any former OLV students or church members and their families. The church and school were established 85 years ago in 1930. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the closing of the church in 1965, and we want to invite all former members to “come home” for this grand reunion.
