Cantor Workshop Richmond

St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church in Richmond will host the Central Vicariate workshop for Cantor Training on Saturday, August 29, 2015, presented by the Office of Worship and Diocesan Liturgical Commission. Janet Natale, a National Pastoral

Summer Fest

St. John’s Catholic Church in Highland Springs will hold their Summer Fest on Saturday, August 15, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the church grounds at 813 W. Nine Mile Rd. There will be music, food, and much laughter. In addition, there will be pony rides, live music, Chinese auction, cash raffle, vendors, crafts, baked goods and face painting. Play games, win prizes and more.

 

Virginia Tech Football

The Newman Community, the Catholic Campus Ministry at Virginia Tech, are calling all Hokie Football Fans to take a chance on winning four free tickets to the VA Tech vs. Ohio State football game on September 7. Participants must be 18 or older to enter, with one entry per person which ends August 23. Golf tournament

The 7th Annual Holy Spirit Catholic Church golf tournament, in honor of Rev. Tim Kuhneman, will be held Friday, Aug. 28, at Honey Bee Golf Club, 2500 S. Independence Blvd., Virginia Beach. Format is 4-person Florida Best Ball. Single players are welcome. Prizes include $10,000 for a hole-in-one. Check-in is at noon and a shotgun start will be at 1 p.m. Cost of $75 per golfer includes greens fee, cart, awards dinner and a mulligan. Sponsorship opportunities are available. JustFaith series

The Comboni Missionary Sisters of Richmond, in conjunction with the Diocesan Office of Social Ministries, will offer the JustFaith Ministries’ “Engaging Spirituality” program at their Holy Angels Retreat Center, 1307 Lakeside Avenue, Richmond, beginning the last week in September. The final schedule will depend on attendees at information sessions to be held in various parishes and at the retreat center on Thursday, September 3, at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. Those interested are urged to attend an information session or call 804-266-2975 for more information.

 

Vendors needed for Fall Festival

St. Olaf Catholic Church will be holding its First Annual Fall Festival on Saturday, September 19, at 104 Norge Lane, Williamsburg from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be 60 spaces available and the rental fee will be $50 per space. Tables will also be available for rent for an additional $10.00 each. There will be a $10 fee for all entries into the car, truck and bike show. All years, makes & models welcome.
