Diocesan pilgrimage to Basilica, Cathedral set for June 25

The Catholic Diocese of Richmond celebrates the Year of Mercy with a spiritual pilgrimage to the Holy Doors in the diocese, Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, Richmond and the Basilica of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception, Norfolk, on Saturday, June 25, 2016.

As we travel to these sites we will be led in prayer and reflection by Deacon Frank Nelson and Deacon Charles Williams. We are invited to receive the gift of mercy and to share it with the world. This journey allows us to be renewed in the Spirit and to be “merciful like our Father” Luke 6:36.

We will depart from the Pastoral Center at 9 a.m. and will return to the Pastoral Center at 8 p.m. The day will conclude with Mass at the Basilica of St. Mary. Cost is $15 and includes transportation and meals. Please register at For more information about the Year of Mercy please visit Please contact Pam Harris, 804-622-5262 or
